In memory of
Tyrone Carnelli
July 19, 1959 - December 03, 2019 - Age 60

Tyrone “Tye” Michael Carnelli passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the age of 60 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Helen; three brothers, Dean (Cindy), Dan (Lisa), Darren (Roxanne); five nieces and nephews, Matthew (Kailee)and their children, Zavrey and Cambria; Morgan (Theresa) and their child Rowan; Landon, Reece and Brandy, along with extended family and many “special” friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ronald; grandparents, Baptiste and Mary Carnelli; Balzar and Christina Deringer. Tyrone was born on July 19, 1959 and was raised in Medicine Hat graduating from McCoy High School then furthering his education at the U of A graduating with a Civil Engineering Degree. He soon realized engineering was not what he wanted to do but his love was for music, home stereo and photography. Tyrone opened up a store under the logo name “Audio Excellence” and he remained in business for 25 years. He was a friend to everyone, mild mannered, happy and loved by all. He was the president of The Photography Club for many years and was so willing to share his knowledge with people he considered his family. The passion of his life was roaming the prairies of Saskatchewan, Alberta and Montana photographing abandoned farm houses, churches, elevators, anything he could find and was always excited if it was something new. Tyrone you are the light in every picture you took...Love your family. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Vijaya Bathineni celebrant. In lieu of flowers, as a expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Southeastern Alberta Search and Rescue Association. I was so saddened to hear of the news of Tye's passing. I've followed his photography and prairie wanderings for years on FB and Flickr and I am so very sorry for his family and friends. He was a nice man, who loved what he did and had no trouble sharing what he learned with others. I appreciated him and his beautiful images.

I'm very saddened to read of Ty's passing. I've known Tye from the school days of McCoy High School and I working out at the same gym with him back in the 80"s at Gold's Gym. My grandparents sponsored his grandparents when they moved from Italy to Medicine Hat and my father was very good friends with his grandfather Baptiste, many memories...Tye died at what he loved to do and was very passionate about and it showed in his photography. Sincere thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Tyrone was a colleague, a mentor, and a good friend. I worked a little for Tye when he first opened his store, then I moved to Saskatchewan to open my own stereo store. He was very helpful and encouraging to me in my first few years. I always enjoyed our visits and it won't be the same coming to Medicine Hat with out getting together with Tye. He is greatly missed.

I was very shocked and saddened with Tye's passing. I always enjoyed when our photography paths crossed and really appreciated his help on many occasions and volunteering to help photograph different events - Stampede especially. He will be missed, not only for his amazing photography, but for who he was.

My brother, Steve Barnard, and Tyrone (as he always called him) were good friends years ago mostly through their time at the gym. We lost Steve 15 years ago on November 15 so I take comfort thinking about their heavenly reunion!
