Alvin was born on the family farm at Sandy Point, Alberta on November 27th, 1919. He spent decades there as a dedicated, hard working, humble farmer and rancher. The Wenz family received the Alberta Century Farm and Ranch award in 2011 honouring 100 years of continuously farming the original homestead. In retirement, Alvin enjoyed gardening, travel, and camping with those he loved most. Alvin liked attending local rodeos with his brothers John and Clarence. This kind and gentle man was able to stay in his own home until this month due to the unbelievable love and care of his wife and daughter Cheryl. The family wishes to thank the special and considerate care provided by Dr. Bratvold. Appreciation also goes to the Home Care staff. Happy trails cowboy, job well done. At Alvin’s request no funeral service will be held. A private family remembrance celebrating Alvin’s life will take place at a later date.
