Ramsay was born on August 28, 1924 on the family farm near Strasbourg, Saskatchewan to Randorf and Mary Bannow. After the war he sold his land to his brother Henry and moved to Regina to start a career in the trucking industry. While there he met a young Mary Neigum and they were married July 17, 1948. Together they had 62 years of happy married life living at various times in Regina, St. Joseph’s and Unity, Saskatchewan before retiring to Medicine Hat in 1991.
