He was predeceased by his parents, Djuro and Soka Andjelic; father and mother-in-law Reinhold and Eva Gill; two brothers, Jovan “John” Andjelic and Mihajl “Mike” Andjelic; two sisters Mika Petrovich and Draginja Radic. Ted was also predeceased by in-laws Francis Gill, Leonard and Gertrude Straub, George Lewandoski, Gladys Andjelic, Harriet Gill and predeceased and survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Ted was born and raised in Uzdolje, Dalmatia, in the former Yugoslavia. As a youngster Ted tended goats and sheep on his cherished Mount Promina behind his childhood home. He was forced to leave home at age 16 with many other Serbian Chetnik Youth Corp soldiers during WWII and the communist occupation immediately after. He eventually made his way through Italy and Germany before crossing to Australia for six years. Ted eventually landed in Medicine Hat in 1955 on a one - month visitor’s visa to visit his brother John and family. Ted met Ruby during his visit and never returned to Australia. Ted married the love of his life Ruby in 1956 and they were together for nearly 63 years. Ted had one main purpose in life, which was to create a better life for his family than he had for himself. Over the course of his life, Ted held many jobs including working with Mac’s Ambulance, the Department of Highways and Knight Schmidt Industries; he even tried farming. Also, for 26 years, he worked with the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital as a Registered Nursing Orderly and co-workers there were often treated to Ted’s jokester side. Ted was a long time Medicine Hat Tigers fan and member of the Medicine Hat Holy Trinity Anglican Church and was a founding member of St. Simeon Mirotocivi Serbian Orthodox Church – Calgary.
