Elaine, Eric and Susan and Nelson Family, I am saddened to read of Syd's passing. He was always so interested in what I was up to when we met up. It was a pleasure to look into the audience and see him enjoying the music. He was a rare bird in the pastoral community as he looked a person square in the eye and really and truly wanted to know how one was. I am priviledged to have known him. God bless all of you as you move forward in this life without Syd's earthly presence.

Elaine, condolences from my wife Linda and myself, as well as the staff here at Chinook Village. We did not know Sid for a long time - but it took no time for him to find a big place in our hearts. He was such a warm, approachable, sociable and pleasant individual. He always took time to chat. And don't call me Rev. or even Pastor, call me Sid - a humble man to be revered and honored. Thank you Elaine for sharing your husband with us as a community - we loved him dearly and pray God will continue to strengthen you be His grace in the days ahead. Chaplain Lance

We mourn with you the passing of this good caring pastor who blessed us for many years with his friendship and ministered to our family in good times and bad. He managed to temper his incredible intellect with the understanding of the common man to reach out to all his flock and strengthen our faith in God. May he find the joy and peace in his homecoming above.

Elaine, I am so sorry for your loss. Having read Sidney’s obituary, I am reminded of his wonderful legacy, through his ministry and personal life. As a boy growing up in Naicam across the street from the Nelson family I saw Sidney as my hero. As well, his box kites were a marvel to be behold. I am also reminded of a great supper meal and your warm hospitality when I was an adjudicator at the Medicine Hat music festival.
Blessings to you and your family, Elaine.

Elaine and family: Pastor Sid meant so much to our family because he was a man of integrity and compassion. We think of Sid for being not just our pastor, but our friend through good times and bad times. It`s not what he accomplished in life, it is the lives he influenced and inspired along the way. He never lost sight of God and we will miss his masterful spirit.
