I've known Don since I was a teenager, always had fun and enjoyed his company. Lately, I would run into him at the IGA and we would chat for a while. He was the type of person who, once he knew you, he would always know you. Great friend, I will miss his gorgeous eyes and his lovely smile. My condolences to the whole family! He and all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Don, you will be missed. Xo

Even although we chose different paths years ago and lost touch Don was still in our thoughts from time to time. This news comes like a punch to the gut, basically it SUCKS! I hope the surviving family has as many or more good memories that we and they can hold on to. Don was a part of our life and we will not forget him.

To Don’s family! Sending my deepest condolences to all of you. Don was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Have some great memories of him. May he be at peace 🙏🏻

Patricia had a memory from years ago while Don was doing some renovations to the house that I thought we should pass on. Don had stated that when he died he wanted the song, "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum to be played. With what is going on nowadays with COVID we thought that if people listened to the song individually, it would be a way to trigger Don's memory especially for those of us who weren't close lately. Every time the song was heard in the future, hopefully it would do the same.

To Justin and Kristi and your beautiful families : this is a terrible trying time for you both. It saddens us deeply to see you with such pain. Your father adored you both. And you both carry his different great talents.....woodwork, hockey and gardening. . But sadly time moves on and this time too will slowly pass, and this pain too will ease and the great memories will be more memorable then the sad moments. We will always be here for you all. Love Mom and Kim

Going way back Donny and billy were my hockey coaches way back in the day . My favourite coaches I ever had , and for only coaching me 1 year we would always say hi 40 years after hockey . Great guy! Sorry for your loss . Unfortunately really good people go way to soon .

I was very sorry to read of the passing of your dad. I always found him to be a very friendly and upbeat person. I remember him attending school parent-teacher interviews. He was always in a good mood and very interested in the welfare of his kids. I am very sorry that the two of you have lost your dad and that there are four kids who have lost a grandfather.
