Meada Mary Heidinger of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at the age of 98 years, beloved wife of the late Albert Heidinger. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Carol (Ray) Williams of Redcliff, Dennis (Wendy) Heidinger of Medicine Hat, Sandra Helfrich of Baynes Lake, BC, Valerie (Tim) Seitz, daughter-in-law, Pat Heidinger and son-in-law, Don Andreas, all of Medicine Hat; twenty six grandchildren, Lyle (Angela), Rob, Duane, Darrell (Angela), Darcy (Tanya), Donna (Joe), Murray (Cora), Kevin (Cindy), Leslie, Wade (Liz), Terry (Lisa), Trevor (Debbie), Bonnie, Justin, Crystal (Kelly), Jeff (Laura), Jason, Kelly (Christine), Anthony (Megon), Jon, Evan (Brianna), Jaron (Lisa); four step grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren; one brother, Martin Schlinker of Medicine Hat; one sister, Bertha Fraser of Drumheller as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Maria Schlinker; her husband, Albert on September 23, 1981; two sons, Melvin and Leonard; one daughter, Loretta Andreas; son-in-law, Bernie Helfrich; three brothers, Jack, Fred and John and three sisters, Molly Stuber, Tina Kent and Emma Stickel. Meada was raised in the Wisdom area. She married Albert Heidinger on May 30, 1936. Together they farmed in Woolchester and raised a family of seven children. In 1972 they retired to Medicine Hat. After Albert’s passing, Meada enjoyed gardening, knitting and going for walks to meet friends for coffee or lunch. In 2009, due to an accident, Meada moved to Chinook Village where she resided until the time of her passing. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 1:25 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Hillcrest Evangelical Missionary Church (3785 13th Ave SE) on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Mark Bolender officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
