Alfred Anthony Wagner of Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, beloved husband of Marianne Wagner (nee Hintz) passed away on March 22, 2024, at the age of 76 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, John and Annalee Wagner, Terry and Alicia Wagner, Treena and Jeff Koberinski; eight grandchildren, Cody and Justin Wagner, Ty-Cody and Carter Wagner, Shala and Kadain Yuhas, Amber and Tyler Koberinski; two great grandchildren Briggs Allen and Lincoln Wagner; three sisters, Vivian Bosch, Ivadelle Maguire and Marilyn Foss and one brother John Wagner. He was predeceased by his parents Anton and Barbara Wagner, brother-in-law Henry Bosch, stepmother Frieda Wagner, mother and father-in-law John and Annie Hintz and step mother-in-law Helene Hintz. Alfred “Alf” was born on September 26, 1947 to Anton “Tony” and Barbara Wagner. He went to school at Liebenthal, Saskatchewan. Alfred worked at numerous jobs and retired from the gas patch. His last job was a fun part-time position working as a custodian at Fox Valley School. Alf’s hobbies were being active with his children and grandchildren. He loved riding horses, curling, slowpitch and camping with his family. Alfred would follow his family members in sports wherever that took them. He enjoyed competition with his kids while gopher hunting to see who could shoot the most. Alfred received an award for “Polka Dance” as well as an award for “Family Riding” extravaganza. He also received an award for curling during a bonspiel that was shared with his team. He won many “safety awards” while working in the gas patch. Alfred was a member of the Knights of Columbus for approximately 56 years. He was a helpful community member; wherever he was needed he would show up.
Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH (1451 Strachan Road SE). Slideshow and Eulogy will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral mass following at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Iqbal Khurshid and Fr. Francis Appiau-Kubi concelebrants. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Alf with a donation may direct it to the Canadian Cancer Society.
