Adam Schmaltz passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Adam leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Loretta; children, Gwen Middleton of Medicine Hat, Kim (Glen) Renwick of Camrose, Brian(Michelle) Schmaltz of Leduc County, Steven (Wendy) Schmaltz of Kindersley; grandchildren, Aaron (Shelly), Jamie (Larry), Craig (Brooke), Micheal (Jillian), Chelsey (Brad), Tyson (Erin), Tenielle (Nathan), Stephanie (Kyle), Amanda, Kadin (Brittany); great grandchildren, Isabella, Jaden, Brooklyn, Loghan, Beckett, Deklan, Olivia; sisters, Ann Barker and Eva Sutherland, brother Richard (Susan) Schmaltz, sister-in-law, Emily Schmaltz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Adam was predeceased by his parents, Ludwig and Katherine Schmaltz; brothers, Peter, Frank, Louis, Jack; his sister Rose Mullhal and son-in-law Blaine Middleton.

Adam was born on a farm in Glidden, Saskatchewan. After the death of his father, he started farming when he was 16 years old and helped to raise his youngest brother. He married Loretta Deering in 1961 and raised four children. He retired from farming in 2004. Adam enjoyed Whopper Wednesdays, scratch and win tickets, card playing, dancing, bowling, golfing, and most of all his grandchildren.
