My deepest sympathies, dear family of our "Aunt Joan". The distance between us prevented us from know her well, but through our mother's (Carol Lane) eyes. What we saw was a cherished and beloved sister who meant so much to those who had the fortune of sharing in her life. In one visit, back in 1982, I glimpsed this in person. May your grief be eased in knowing there is a wider world of kin out here who deeply share in it and her passing touches us all.
I’m sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. She was a fine lady, well regarded by my parents, Matt & Polly, & myself on the few occasions I met her.
May her life have been of fond & cherished memories for all her family.
To all of our cousins in Alberta, Doug and I extend our deepest sympathies. I had heard so much over the years of how beloved our Aunt Joan was to my mother, I was very happy to have the chance to meet her and so many of you as we stopped by Medicine Hat in 2018, on our way further west. Her smile and the twinkle in her eyes were so familiar to me, I felt at home immediately. As we shared that happy family day, we also share your sorrow at your loss, and trust you find comfort in countless good memories together.
Sending love and condolences to all the family. Our mom, Carol, adored her beloved younger sister and with my visit out west in 2008, I could see why! Aunt Joan and Uncle Joe were so welcoming of me, my husband and children. Joan had a tender heart and a kind and generous spirit. I’m so glad I had that time with her; I could see so much of my mom - and our many sweet aunts! - in her :) I will join you tomorrow from my home in Nova Scotia. Much love, Sheila Lane

Sending hugs and condolences to all of Aunt Joan’s family. I never had the pleasure of meeting her, but mom ( Paulette) would talk about her and missed her dearly.
Janice, Scott and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find comfort knowing that we feel your loss. We pray that God will bless and keep you especially during these times of sorrow. Perhaps we can find some comfort knowing Grandma Joan will be with Scotty. Hugs to you all.
Sending our sympathies to all of the family. I remember playing at Aunt Joan and Uncle Joe's place. She was always such a gentle regal lady. Andy's mom, Josephina remembers being her shuffleboard partner. Hugs to everyone.
