1942 ~ Jess Sackman ~ 2020
Jess Lucille Sackman passed away peacefully in her own home with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the age of 77 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 59 years, Cliff “Sacky” Sackman; two daughters, Shelley (Hal) Benson of Medicine Hat and Carrie (Arnie) Smith of Leduc; two grandchildren, Brandon (Lisa) Heather and their children Elijah and Raphaella; and Tyler (Ashley) Heather; one brother Rick (Darren) Moore and one sister Helen Retelback as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Helen and Richard Moore; one daughter Cindy Lee in infancy (1961) and one sister Beatrice McCallum. Jess was born on December 17, 1942 in Medicine Hat and was raised in Redcliff. On March 25, 1961 she married Cliff Sackman and that same year their daughter Cindy was born and passed away after 3 days. Jess was proud to be a secretary for her entire career, retiring in 1996. In retirement she lived to golf. She also enjoyed travelling and more golf. Our family wish to express our gratitude to Dr. Foley and we will be forever grateful for the Palliative Home Care team. In compliance with restrictions in place regarding COVID- 19 from the Chief Medical Officer of Health - funeral services are limited in attendance. Please practice safe distancing. The funeral service will be held on the 1st hole “Ladies tee box” at Riverview Golf Course in Redcliff on Tuesday July 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. If possible please wear casual golf attire and bring your own lawn chair and an umbrella. It is recommended to park in the golf course parking lot and walk to hole #1.
