Gerald McKee
March 28, 1934 - May 03, 2018 - Age 84

Gerald “Gerry” Ernest McKee passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at the age of 84 years, beloved husband of Anne McKee of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Cheri McKee, his son, Kerry (Gail) McKee and their daughter Hilary; his brother Keith McKee; two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Anna McKee, his son, Darren in infancy; his brothers, Raymond (Anne) and Lyle (Alice) and sister-in-law Jean McKee. Gerry was born on March 28, 1934 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He lived in various areas throughout Saskatchewan before moving to Medicine Hat in 1949. Gerry attended St. Theresa’s Academy for two years. He worked in various industries before joining the RCAF and becoming a fighter pilot. Gerry met Anne Donnelly in January of 1956 in Portage La Prairie and they were married on June 23, 1956; they then moved back to Medicine Hat and he worked for NW Nitro for ten years. They moved to Fort McMurray where he worked in the oil industry. While in Fort McMurray, he served on the Separate School Board, was a member of Fort McMurray Lodge #195, becoming a member of the Scottish Rite and attaining his 32nd degree. Gerry was also a member of Al Azar Shrine Temple, a Charter Member, Past Patron and Life Member of the Fort McMurray Chapter #137 Order of the Eastern Star. Gerry then transferred to Maclin, Saskatchewan for eight years where he continued to work in the oil industry and also served on the Maclin Police Commission. Gerry moved back to Medicine Hat in 1991. Upon moving back to Medicine Hat, Gerry became a member of the Medicine Hat Shrine Club Motor Patrol Unit and was an active member in ministries of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. Gerry loved reading, doing crossword puzzles and travelling. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Tomy Manjaly celebrant. No flowers by request.
