Raymond Edwin Ehnisz
April 19, 1931 - March 06, 2018 - Age 86

Raymond Edwin Ehnisz passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the age of 86 years, beloved husband of Idella Ehnisz of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Myra (Larry) Krein, Lorna (Randy) Reynolds and Nancy (Patrick) Lake; six grandchildren, Melanie and Trent (Oliver, Elias, Madeline, Abigail), Andrew and Farlee (Ethan, Morgan), Jeremy and Kara (Jack, Mallory), Audrey and Steven (Dylan, Nate), Jonathan and Benjamin; three sisters, Lillian Burkart, Lena Zepick, and Viola (Paul) Deering; one brother-in-law, Bill Miller; four sisters-in-law, Anne Janke, Elsie Kirschenman, Viola Jassman, and Kathleen Ehnisz. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Philip Ehnisz; one son Sydney Vance in infancy; three brothers, Emil, Harry and Fred; four sisters, Edna Roth, Elma Schick, Idella Raaf, and Mabel Miller. Raymond was the second youngest in a family of twelve, born and raised on the farm, eight miles from Burstall. Raymond and Idella were married in 1953 and took over Idella's parents' farm where they lived until their retirement to Medicine Hat in 1998. Raymond served his community and his church in a variety of capacities, from school bus driver, RM of Deer Forks Councillor, Reeve, and School Board Trustee, to church board and choir member, adding his voice to the bass section. Raymond loved sports and often could be found on the softball field playing first base or on the hockey or curling ice. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbours or friends in need. His outgoing personality, sense of humor and positive outlook on life will forever be part of the legacy he leaves behind for all to remember and cherish.

Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Message from Angela Spanier March 09, 2018

My sympathies to such a beautiful family. Although I never met your dad, if he was a reflection of his girls, I would say what a kind, giving, compassionate, hardworking, and loving man he was. Thinking of you Lorna, Nancy, and family.
